KASERE X LISA ACADEMY: A MATCH MADE IN CREATIVE HEAVEN (LAUNCHING OUR FIRST CLUB MEETING!)

Hey Kasere Family,

Welcome aboard once again, fellow adventurers! As you know, I'm your captain, Ehi-Sulaiman Miriam, and today we're embarking on a journey that has the entire crew buzzing with excitement. Brace yourselves for something extraordinary!

Picture this: Kasere's inaugural club meeting at the Let It Shine Academy! Perhaps, you are curious about who or what the Let It Shine Academy is. Well here’s the tea! We're excited to unveil our new partner, LISA.

Like Kasere, LISA is a non-profit group aimed at introducing creative and development arts to the demographic of less privileged children between the ages of 5 to 16 in Nigeria. Together, we have a goal to bring art and creative activities that are aimed at cultivating the innate creativity of these youngsters. On June 29, 2024, we launched an exciting new project together: our bi-weekly club!

The air was electric as our Founder Mfon Okutinyang, Program Coordinator Grace Fatsetire, amazing volunteers, and dynamic duo of facilitators, Folu and Shina, set the stage for magic. But make no mistake - the real stars of this show were the brilliant young minds of the Academy. We set up our piano and talking drums, then gathered the kids around. Each child told us their name, what they liked to do, and their dreams. It was amazing to see how well they knew themselves. Our founder, Mfon Okutiyang, then explained what Kasere is all about. She told the kids that Kasere wanted to help them show their talents, bit by bit. We felt lucky to be there because we could see how talented all the kids were and we were happy to pose the opportunity that aid their potential and make it shine.

Next was our music session. Fola led the kids in making music together. They played the piano and drums, creating lively rhythms and melodies. The room was filled with joyful sounds. It was Kasere in its purest form - 'Let's Play' brought to vibrant life. But the journey was far from over. Shina, our art director, took the wheels, steering us to new creative heights. The 'zip zang pong' icebreaker erupted into a chorus of giggles, momentarily transporting us all back to the carefree days of youth.

Then came the climax of the day - children morphing into their favorite movie characters with such conviction that we knew we were in the presence of uncut diamonds, ready to dazzle the world. As the day drew to a close, we found ourselves reveling in gratitude, we had found our stars, they all seemed like they were born for the spotlight. It was beautiful to realize how perfectly our visions aligned, a perfect match made in the creative heavens! We bid farewell with Dare Art Alade's soulful 'Pray for Me' - a fitting anthem for the journey ahead. Because in this vast ocean of potential, we're all navigating toward our dreams, one stage at a time

Last but not least, some pictures of our youngsters to feed your eyes:

See you next time my amazing family, I remain your captain, Ehi-Sulaiman Miriam.
